What You Will Learn From This Course

A smooth and convex forehead shape is essential for harmonized facial appearance, whereas atrophy and hollowing that might start very early in some patients, result in a skeletonized, sick-looking appearance.

The forehead is considered as one of high-risk zones for vascular complications after filler injections, including necrosis and even blindness. Therefore, many doctors are afraid to perform forehead augmentation treatments.

In this course we want to provide you with exact and detailed knowledge of anatomy, safe injection techniques, individually based product selection as well as most frequent complications and their treatments.

We want to enable you to perform safe and effective forehead augmentation on your patients and make them feel and look better and happier.

Based on more than 15 years of teaching experience we have combined several learning methods and a proven curriculum to provide you with the most complete and detailed knowledge to safely master “dangerous zones” on the forehead.

Introduction and assessment

For every injector it is mandatory to understand the aesthetic importance of the region in relation to the entire facial appearance and to respect ethnical and gender differences as well as changes due to the aging process.

Anatomy

In the past few years, the importance of layered anatomy has been widely acknowledged, resulting in a multitude of new anatomical and cadaver dissection courses.

Prof. Sebastian Cotofana is one of the most recognized teachers of injectables related anatomy worldwide. His work and his publications have significantly contributed to the understanding of the facial layered anatomy as well as advantages and disadvantages of different injection techniques.

Life injection

After explaining the different layers, main anatomical landmarks and most relevant vascular and nerval structures of the region on slides, Prof. Cotofana demonstrates the same procedure in our cadaver dissection video.

As clinicians we cannot perform dissections on our patients to see which layer we are injecting in, where are the vessels and nerves. The knowledge obtained in anatomical lectures, course and dissections needs to be translated into the patient’s face and into our hands when performing injections. To achieve this in our courses we are teaching not only basic anatomy, but also relevant applied anatomy projected on the patients face. Following the cadaver dissection Dr. Pavicic shows on a live patient how to find and identify the anatomical structures demonstrated before on the cadaver.

Last but now least all this knowledge needs to be transferred into safe injection techniques resulting in effective treatments and happy patients. We will show you step by step, what are the advantages and risks of different injection techniques. In our injection videos we take your hands and guide them through the injection procedure – how does it feel to penetrate the fascia, how does it feel to glide with the blunt tip cannula through superficial fat compartments in comparison to the deep ones, and how do you know that you are injecting below the aponeurosis.

Finally, in our cadaver injection lesson we show you where the product should be / has been placed if the injection has been performed correctly.

Potential Side Effects

Still with all this knowledge, experience and training filler complications can happen even to very experienced practitioners. In our complications lesson we show you the most frequent complications, their potential cause and appropriate treatment algorithm. This will enable you to professionally recognize and treat complications that might occur in your daily practice. Because most complications are well treatable, if recognized and treated as early as possible.

Certification

As a recognition for your achievements you will receive a certificate for forehead augmentation course upon successfully completion of the course final exam.
